Hello Everyone & Welcome. I was looking around in my radio farm and saw this Zenith Royal 1969 Classic hidden. So, I decided to give it a try and work on it, and have it upgraded. Here it is, For your consideration. Specially for all the good few of you, This one is A 1969 R-3000-1 Serial: # 3794767 Chassis 14KT40Z8 It has the log chart. And the one Brand new rechargeable battery with its new charger & New Led’s. it is Really Working Spectacular, Like A Wurlitzer (Strong up front sound) And the FM (AFC Switch locks nicely), Playing So Rich gorgeously Mellows sound, like if you were listening to it in stereo. I have replaced All the known to cause problems, Electrolytic capacitors With Brand new fresh ones. Although it wasn’t necessary, But I did replace them any way As precautionary measureTo guarantee it’s performance as of today time. I have Matiiciously Cleaned all controls & switches; Tunning gang variable capacitor & Re- lubricated the function switch assembly.Actuallythe chassis look so clean. Plus, I have checked all the 20% tolerance Resistor, they were fine. And Speciallyon the IF section and scoped all the stages. To Insure strong reliability on the amplification of the IF section. Then, Started to Install the Ultra-pure white Led’s, with the required components in the dial drum assembly And The forever one , The one big brand new 12 volts Rechargeable batteryThey will last forever. With a new 12 volts charger included You will never have to buy batteries for this radio ever again. I have also Installed a beautiful tiny green color battery display meter. So that you can see the actual battery voltage. And, I have installed a fuse holder with a .5ma, (Gma fuse), To protect the radio. The fuse holder it is located inside of the battery case Also, there are two more Extras .5ma, (Gma fuses) inside the battery case. I have removed the spring on the dial light switch, so you no longer don’t have to hold it down, Now you just slide down and it stay down. The handle & antenna are. Fine. This radio is in super, Extra ordinary working condition playing with great strong up front sensitivity and gorgeously clarity of crisp crystal-clear sound. It just plays like a new Original, out of the factory, period!! The bands selector is very smooth and accurate, practically noiseless. It tunes the stations on the dial scale, right on target. The dial drum lights, Glows fantastically Gorgeous with these Ultra-pure white led’s in there. I have re-polished the chassis and the entire set to re-enhance it even more I am dedicated to service, And I love repairing these radios as a hobby, trying to make them work & to look like they were done in the 60’s. I’ll take deep pride doing this and it takes a lot of consuming time to really making it Work & look the best as of today. I can’t make them mint(I wish I could but, I certainly sure, I did the best possible to make them better to work & to operate Especially, without spending a lot of money buying these D sizes batteries) My intension of doing the radios like this is for you, the few good guys who really enjoy, Having, truly a Perfectly working radio, For your listening pleasure and no putting, them aside for collection.
