Sony PVM-2950Q Professional Video Monitor For Sale: a Sony PVM-2950Q Professional Video Monitor as pictured. I have several 2950’s, I am going to guess this one would be the best of the bunch. The reason being, if you look at the front of the monitor it is wearing a VTel logo, as it was sold to the university as part of a video conferencing system. So it wasn’t in some editing situation where it might have spent all day on. Turn it on, have your video conference, and then turn it back off would be my expectation. AND given the pace of technology in video conferencing I suspect the system didn’t stay in action too long before it was sent packing to surplus. And I bought the whole system back in like 2000, then sold off the conferencing equipment and kept the monitor. Somewhere along the line it got moved to a seldom used beach cottage that had no cable and no on the air TV channels available. So unless you wanted to watch a VHS movie on it it mostly just sat unused. Which would probably explain why it has such a vibrant picture after all these years. Physically the monitor has some nicks and dings, a couple I have pictured (no idea how that fleck of paint got on it), but that and the corners are about as bad as it gets. The thing is heavy as lead as you can imagine, so any time it gets moved it probably picks up a few more scratches just because it’s too heavy to move gently. But I would assume you are buying it more for the picture, and just look how great that is. Possibly the finest retro gaming monitor in captivity. Picture is with a non-paused S-Video laser disc input (I don’t have the remote for the LD, and if you hit pause it basically stops instead). If you are put off by the VTel logo piece on the front, I am pretty sure if you take that off there will be SONY recessed into the black plastic case. You could probably fill the lettering with white silicone and it would look like factory. All items are sold as is with no warranty offered unless one is specifically stated. Any testing done will be explicitly stated in the listing and any accessory items will also be mentioned or pictured. If it isn’t pictured or mentioned you can assume it is not part of the sale. Which brings us to the big question- how does it get from me to you? Given the weight, the value, and the fragile nature of vintage electronics I would VASTLY prefer local pickup on this. That way you can verify it to be working before you haul it away, and we don’t have to worry about it getting gored by a forklift in transit. Should be easy enough to load into the back of an SUV. The monitor is stored in 27966 but could easily be transferred to my home a block off the beach in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Oddly enough people pay good money to come and stay here on vacation so a roadtrip to the Outer Banks is not a bad idea even if you didn’t have to pick up a TV. IF it has to ship, due to the excessive size and weight this piece will need to ship freight. I can make the arrangements or you can make them yourself. I would estimate the shipment weighing 200 pounds by the time I crate it, which would translate to $250 to a commercial address nearby on the east coast and maybe as much as $500 to the west coast. Shipments to a residential address and/or shipments that require a liftgate delivery will be subject to additional fees as will shipments going to schools and universities and major metro areas, etc. If you prefer to make your own shipping arrangements it would be originating from a commercial space in zip code 27966 and a lift gate would not be required for the pickup. Please message me with the particulars of your delivery if you would like a quote. If the item listed requires a standard modular AC cord I no longer automatically ship those based on the theory that everybody has a box full of those already. If you need an AC cord they are available on request as long as including one doesn’t compromise the packaging. If you need one and don’t ask it’s going to cost you five bucks for me to mail one after the fact, it isn’t my fault if you can’t be bothered to read this far.
