The Singer Tucker 36583 is not for sale in this listing and is used for informational purposes only.~~~From delicately fine pin tucks to bold classy pleats! Adorn elegant lingerie, infants wear, blouses and furnishings.Imagine! This is your something special magic sewing accessory when a little pizazz is desired! Tucks and pleats add visual texture to your sewing project. The Singer Tucker Attachment looks complicated. It isn’t.Simply put, fabric is folded and then stitched. The Singer Tucker helps you set how wide (with the tuck guide) to make the folds (pin tucks or pleats) and how far apart (with the space scale) the pin tucks or pleats are spaced from each other. Loosening the tuck guide screw (blue arrow) releases the sliding tuck scale blade. Loosening the space scale screw (purple arrow) releases the sliding space scale blade. The tuck guide blade determines how close to the folded edge the needle stitches down the fold (green arrow). The space scale blade determines how far away the stitched folds (tucks or pleats) are spaced from each other (red arrows). Narrow folds and narrow spacing create pin tucks. Wider folds and wider spacing create pleats. A little mix and match can be fun! ~~~Once the tucker is attached to the presser bar of your sewing machine, feed the folded fabric between the two tuck guide blades and above the bottom space guide blade (two red arrows on the left).The bottom space guide blade has a spur which is used to mark the next fold for stitching (red arrow bottom right). As you sew, the marking lever presses the grooved blade onto the spur blade on the tucker. This process impermanently marks a line as you sew showing you where to fold the fabric for the next line of stitching. Finger press the fold and insert the folded fabric into the tucker attachment again. As you sew, the Singer Tucker will mark the next fold line.
