Product Description Threaded Inserts/Knurls for Timber Chair & Table Legs (Sold as a set of 4 inserts/knurls) These “threaded inserts/knurls” screw into timber furniture legs allowing an adjustable fixed or tilting/swivel foot to be added. They require a hole to be drilled into the timber leg. (see photo) The insert/knurl is then screwed into the hole with an allen key. (see photo) Please see my other items for M6, M8, & M10 adjustable feet to suit these inserts/knurls. Sizing Options are: M6 thread (length 14.4mm) M8 thread (length 16.6mm) M10 thread (length 19.3mm) They are sold as a set of 4. Fitting Instructions for Timber Knurls 1. Locate and drill the following sized hole into the timber leg (note knurl size): M6 Knurl: 9mm hole M8 Knurl: 10mm hole M10 Knurl” 13mm hole 2. Scrape some candle wax onto the external thread and gently and slowly start winding the knurl in with an “Allen Key”. DO NOT USE A POWERED DRIVER TO INSERT THE KNURL 3. If the knurl tightens too much then back it out and gently start winding it in again (This is most important especially in hardwood as the knurl is cutting a thread into the timber) 4. If not inserted gently, as above, the knurl may snap 5. If the knurl tightens too much remove the knurl and then increase the hole size slightly by 0.5mm 6. The knurl top flange will cover the top of the hole when wound home. Knurls insert easier into soft wood but care must be taken when inserting into any hardwood About Us Why Buy From Us?
