Item Information This listing is for a Heavy Duty Transmission Pan with Stock Capacity for the GM 6L80, 6L80E Transmission, Cast Aluminum finish. This heavy duty transmission oil pan fits GM 6 speed hydramatic 6L80, 6L80E transmissions for 2006 and newer Cadillac, Camaro, Corvette, and Chevrolet and GM trucks and SUVs. There is a fill hole and plug for vehicles with the fill in the pan, such as some Camaros. A magnetic drain plug and all mounting bolts are included with the pan. This pan has been designed for: + Cooling – fins and aluminum construction for reported temperature drops of 10 to 35 degrees + Maintains clearance, only 5/8 inch deeper than stock + ½ NPT hole and plug for pan-fill + Drain Plug – on the driver’s side for safety + Secure Seal – machined flat gasket flange for a leak free seal + Strength – high quality aluminum, thick walls to add strength to the transmission housing + Fins on bottom of pan for additional clearance and heat dissipation + Designed to work with the stock filter and the stock reusable gasket This pan has been installed on 6L80E Transmissions in 2006 and newer Chevrolet and GM cars and trucks such as these vehicles: + Cadillac STS 2008-2009 with 3.6L, 4.4L, 4.6L engines + Cadillac XLR 2008-2009 with 4.4L, 4.6L engines + Cadillac CTS 2006-2008 with 6.0L + Camaro 2010-2015 with 6.2L + Corvette 2006-2014 + Pontiac G8(check stock pan, see note in filter information below) + Truck and SUVs needing a lower profile(such as those with skid plates) Configurations vary so always check your vehicle. Verify which transmission you have and look for ground clearance and interference from frame cross members or exhaust components. Pan dimensions can be found below in our Technical Information section. In many cases you will need to drop the exhaust to install this pan. You would need to drop the exhaust to service the transmission with the stock pan as three bolts are not otherwise accessible. No filter supports or extensions are needed since this pan is the same internal depth as the 3.3″ deep stock pan. Filter and Gasket Information No filter supports or extensions are needed since this pan is the same internal depth as the 3.3″ deep stock pan. On the outside, this pan is larger than the stock pan. Note: Check your stock pan size. This design is based on a stock pan with 3.3″ depth. A Pontiac G8 owner reported that his stock pan is 2 1/4″ deep. If so, you might need a different filter, such as the filter for a Camaro. This pan is designed to accommodate the reusable factory gasket. Please make sure the gasket is clean and free of any holes or nicks to avoid leaks. The above photo shows a side-by-side comparison of the HD stock pan and the GM stock pan. In the above photo you can see the difference in depth of the HD Stock Pan vs the GM Stock Pan. Three bosses are provided that can be machined for use with aftermarket sensors and gauges. If you would like us to machines and tap a boss for you there is an extra $65.00 charge, just let us know which location you prefer and what size to machine. The bosses can accommodate from 1/8 to 1/2 NPT. The bosses can also be used as alternate drain plug locations. The above diagram shows the dimensions in inches of the Deep Pan so you can check clearances under you vehicle before ordering. If the pan or cover you receive is determined to have some kind of manufacturing defect (i.e., machining problem, leak due to porosity in pan wall), PML will replace the part.
