Description Beautiful figured mahogany longcase clock which has a removable split arched top hood with carved pillars, a classic Welsh longcase design with wide proportions The trunk door has 2 arched panels and although doesn’t have a working lock the door does hold shut when on display The figured mahogany case is in excellent condition with a beautiful age patina to it The case has its classic Welsh design and wide proportions with it measuring 29 inches wide The clock has a hand painted arched 20″ x 14″ dial which is signed by the maker ‘Hugh Roberts of Llangefni”, the dial has a seconds and calendar sub dials The dial is in excellent amazing condition with the hand painted decoration of flowers to each corner and to the top it has a girl and boy playing on a seesaw It has its original 8 day bell striking weight driven movement which has a anchor escapement and comes with its pendulum and weights The movement strikes the bell the amount of hours on the hour Movement is in full working order keeping good time and striking as it should as you can see in the video above The clock measures 88.25 inches high x 29 inches wide x 10.25 inches deep The trunk measures 23.5 inches wide x 7.5 inches deep Antique Welsh Hugh Roberts Llangefni 8 Day Mahogany Grandfather Longcase Clock Description Main reasons why you should purchase your antique clock from Times & Chimes Ltd !!!
